The Breath of Life – The Bread of Life

As I was typing “the Breath of Life” this morning, my computer helpfully corrected it to “the Bread of Life.” And so this blog post was conceived!

Conception can happen like that. A moment of passion, or unconscious activity, and behold, a new life is created. Ideally, babies come into the world via conscious conception, with parents prepared and happy to welcome them. The unexpected is a thing in life, though. I wasn’t expecting to write a blog post this morning!

I was momentarily annoyed by the auto correction until I saw the wisdom of it. Is it not true that the Breath of Life is the Bread of Life? It is our most profound sustenance. Our source. When we have no other food, we can subsist on bread. We cannot survive without the Breath of Life. It enables us to not only survive but also, when we orient to it, to thrive. This in a sense is the essence of Craniosacral Biodynamics. We facilitate re-orienting to the Breath of Life and its tides and potency when conditional forces locked in the system are obscuring the connection with these deeper universal or Biodynamic forces.

At conception, the Breath of Life breathes us into form. It arrives as the long tide drawn into an energetic field of light established at the moment of conception. Our physical form is but two cells, sperm and egg, combining forces at this point, but our energetic form is magnificent.

An “Intelligence with a capital I” acts to guide our early formation. A bio-electric torus-shaped field is established within the vast field of long tide. Its ever-arising midline, which we call the Primal Midline, draws the cells of the embryo along it, pulling upwards the first evidence of physical midline, the primitive streak appearing 14 days after conception. The notochord then follows the same primal midline, becoming a major fulcrum for further embryological development, as cells and tissues form in relation to this midline.

We often sense this primal midline during the re-organisation phase of the inherent treatment plan during session work. Cells and tissues that have been more affected by past traumas or other unresolved history may seem to have forgotten the Breath of Life and its representatives, the primal midline and tides.

We can sense a fluid body or field suspended within the vast field of long tide. The Breath of Life “steps down” or is transmuted into a more embodied state as potency filling the fluid body.

Potency guides our organisation into embodied form both as embryos and throughout life. It also serves to protect as needed. When we face trauma or overwhelming conditions, potency will coalesce in protection, creating an inertial fulcrum. The cells and tissues respond to potency’s protective contraction by also densifying, rendering them less able to participate in the tidal flow. They are relatively paralysed or frozen, organised by the inertial fulcrum as well as the Breath of Life. The tidal rhythms may be less available to sense in these areas due to the influence of the protective inertial fulcrum.

As these inertial fulcrums resolve via the unfolding of the inherent treatment plan, the cells and tissues affected can also let go. There may be a sense of the entire body reorganising now that it doesn’t have to accommodate the inertial fulcrum. At this point, there is often a sense of holding a little embryo, with a strong primal midline reminding the system of the original blueprint, the original intention prior to and beyond the trauma.

Allowing ourselves to rest in observing and holding this highly Intelligent process is a great honour. In these moments, I feel my gratitude for being able to practice this beautiful, profound, subtle work. I give thanks to the Breath of Life. I feel satisfied with this delicious meal, the Bread of Life.

  1. And breatharians are too! 🙂 Thank you for this enjoyable read. The spontaneity of it is very sweet.

  2. Cherionna,
You write beautifully! Your descriptions of what you are sensing have helped me to achknowledge what I have felt sensed in treatments recently. I’m a student at the Sunshine Coast in Australia, and I’ve been experiencing the torus and the embryological patterning and it’s expressions in a series of practice sessions recently. I’ve been astounded at the size of the torus and the changes that occur with the re-organisation phase. Another astounding quality that has arisen is the nature of the ‘substance’ within the field of the torus, like an energetic amnion surrounding the body.
Always love and appreciate clarification and confirmation from mentors and teachers xx
Thanks for sharing this article, do you mind if I share it?
